Mouse DPI and in-game sensitivity describe different parts of your setup. Recording both makes it easier to compare Rainbow Six Siege settings, move between profiles and identify an unexpected change in how your mouse feels.
DPI, hipfire and ADS are separate controls
DPI describes the mouse’s reporting scale for physical movement. In-game horizontal and vertical sensitivity influence how the game responds to that input. ADS sensitivity applies while aiming down sights. A number copied from another player is incomplete without the surrounding settings.
For that reason, this guide does not prescribe a universal “best DPI.” Begin with a comfortable setting and keep it fixed while evaluating the game’s sensitivity controls. If your mouse has a DPI switch, confirm that an accidental press has not selected another profile.
Where to change ADS sensitivity in Siege
Ubisoft’s official ADS sensitivity guide directs players to the gear menu, then Options and the Controls tab. Select Mouse ADS Sensitivity for mouse input, or Controller ADS Sensitivity for a supported controller. The same guide explains that the Default option restores the standard settings.
Before restoring defaults, save your current values somewhere you can find them. A reset is useful for comparison, but it should not erase your only record of a setup you already like.
Keep a short sensitivity record
- Mouse model, DPI and selected mouse profile
- Horizontal and vertical sensitivity
- ADS values shown in your current game menu
- Display resolution and field of view
- Game version and date of the comparison
Use this record alongside your saved Eviltechs configuration. Treat the software profile and the game settings as two separate records unless the software explicitly tells you that a value is included in an export.
Compare changes consistently
Keep the same mouse profile, display setup and in-game conditions when comparing two values. Change only one control, note the result and decide whether to keep it before moving on. This is more useful than repeatedly importing unrelated settings without knowing what changed.
If the difference began after an update, consult our Rainbow Six Siege update checklist before rebuilding your entire setup. It helps separate a changed game setting from a changed software profile.
